Defining Spiritual Direction and Guidance
Spiritual direction is the practice of being with people as they (attempt to) deepen their relationship with the divine, or learn and grow in their own personal spirituality. A director listens and asks questions to assist a directee in his/her/their process of reflection and spiritual growth.
The mission of Seeking the Spirit Within is helping to ensure that seekers we are called to care for have access to spiritual companionship. To fulfill that mission, we offer a high-quality certificate program in becoming a Spiritual Director.
Meet regularly online, and once a school year in person, with a small group of other students and certified spiritual directors to study materials, deepen your understanding of the practices and principles of spiritual direction, and develop the skills necessary to serve as a spiritual director or guide.
